KOHBAR

As we know the Mithila painting is related to Mithila culture , where Kohbar is a distinguished Mithila art . There is a tradition of preparing Kohbar on the occasion of mirrage .
In Kohbar ,figurative symbolism are used to express the love and bondings of newly married couple .
Such as the symbol of sun and moon display longer life of newly married couple .
Love birds  says about the love and affection between the couple .
Bamboo expresses the propagation and Gauripoojan for well and prosperous life of husband .
These figurative symbolism  of Kohbar had always attracted me and it deepened my curiousiry .
I started to collect more information regarding this and keeping in mind our Mithila’s tradition and culture, I tried to draw this simple art of piece.

Baba Vishwnath Jee

When I recently shifted to Varanasi, I felt from bottom of my heart that I should portrait Baba Vishwnath  in Madhubani style of painting.

While returning from the Ghat Dashashwamedh  this imagination came into my mind, which I tried  to put on a piece of paper with my best efforts.
whenever I see this simple art I can feel the serenity of temple.

This is my best memory of Varanasi which will be in my mind for life long.
